Hi, my name is Mike Holmes. I am a church planting pastor in Wyoming. Shortly after beginning the church in 2007 I hired a part-time intern to help with some of the tech stuff. He encouraged me step into a new genre bubbling up in computer world called social media. I am kind of stubborn and I knew I didn't want to learn a bunch of new software. I also didn't want to become one of those people with their face always stuck in their phone all day long. For sure, I was a resistant one!
But he persisted! I still remember the in-depth discussion across an old oak hotel desk (our church is in an old historic hotel) and my eventual submission to his passionate appeal. After some initial pushback, I discovered that by using Facebook posting I could communicate my passion with many more folks than just using email and texting. I also discovered I could easily use photos to help express and enhance my message.
